Several dozen people spoke out against the development rezoning for Gordon Drive during the fixed public hearing of the Dyas crew.

Developer Bradley (Brad) Cronquist was gifted a change in zoning to allow 65 row townhouses. From RU1 (Large Lot Housing); designated S-RES (Suburban Residential) in the OCP to MF2 (Townhouse Housing); redesignated to S-MU (Suburban Multiple Unit). These are wood frame 3 story topped with rooftop patios. First and most prominant concern is high density with a single access road feeding the already congested Gordon Drive.

The proposed driveway exits onto a sidewalk used daily by children walking to and from Dorothea Walker Elementary, Bellevue Elementary, Okanagan Mission Secondary, and the YMCA daycare. An independent time-stamped count on Friday, May 1, 2026 documented 400 vehicles in the 8:45 AM peak interval. To obscure that, the proponent's traffic analysis concluded 'minimal impact.' That was based on counts taken March 23–24, 2026 when students were on spring break. Schools were closed and buses were not running. The study spewed PM peak only. Morning gridlock on Gordon Drive at the development site, looking toward the DeHart Avenue lights.

Gordon Drive is an arterial road, already heavily congested at school drop-off and pick-up points. The development adds density and congestion and takes no measures to address or mitigate it.

All the Cronquists are lobbyists, and probably have a direct line to their good old buddy Tom Dyas. Both men are directly connected to and through the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce.

Most galling of the rigged meeting was the insulting horseshit from wicked old crow DeHart. The Khalistani employee bent over backward to piss on the petition of 891 Kelowna citizens and that sums up her, Dyas, and much of this Kelowna council.

"Despite objections, council voted 5-3 in favour with councillors Cannan, Lovegrove and Hodge opposed. Coun. Loyal Wooldridge was not in attendance." Dyas and his possee of Luke Stack, Rick Webber, Mohini Singh and Maxine DeHart gifted the shitbox approval to the Cronquists despite strong opposition.

The event, among the last led by dorkus mayor Tom Dyas and this city council, will happen from 10-11 am on Friday, June 26. Cost? The event better be free because Kelowna taxpayers have pissed away $500k for their new "landmark" sign. Perhaps dorky Dyas borrowed the money for that and for free donuts.

Clown JC Rathwell has a message

Unsuccessful three-time council candidate JC Rathwell, who dressed up as a ship’s captain in previous campaign material, is trying something new and improved this time around. Using AI, he made a series of videos in which he says he’s considering running in this fall’s campaign. Rathwell ran for council in 2005, finishing second-to-last among the 31 candidates. School trustee Lee-Ann Tiede declares for Kelowna council

Lee-Ann Tiede, who has served three terms as school trustee, has declared for Kelowna councillor. The move up the food chain seems a natural progression for Tiede. Central Okanagan school trustees gave themselves a raise in 2026. Eyebrows were raised on the optics of handing themselves raises while the Central Okanagan Public Schools is facing a $4.2 million deficit in the 2026-27 budget. Lee-Ann Tiede was the lone trustee to oppose the resolution.

The bump was from $25,564 to $26,102 for trustees. Kelowna councillor pays $58,080 for part-time duties.

Bal Grewal declares for councillor

Local lawyer and realtor Bal Grewal has announced he will run for Kelowna City Council in the 2026 municipal election. Grewal previously ran for council in 2022, finishing with 6,861 votes, or 14th in a race for eight seats. He also ran for the B.C. United Party and lost. This may be his year as several current councillors are being fingered as bums. More candidates for council are expected. The mayor's chair is Ron Cannan's to lose. If Tracy Gray doesn't split the anti-Dyas vote Cannan should be in the clear.

Kelowna growth way down - revisit

This was posted in January. Today the unemployment rate in Kelowna is 9%, the highest of any metro area of Canada. Under Dyas, the City of Kelowna's payroll climbed 8% to $126.1 million in a single year. That is unsustainable. Property values have declined across the board, down 2%. Dyas is spending more as the pie gets smaller. Between 2022 and 2026, Kelowna’s municipal tax hike has been 21%. Tom Dyas called his increase of 4.4% for the current year “fantastic” and “amazing”. The greatest rise under former mayor Colin Basran was 3.9%.

The greater Kelowna area saw a population rise of only 1.2% in the last year with the headcount coming in at 254,605, up from 252,651. The 2021 Census, once placed Kelowna as Canada’s fastest-growing city, a mantra embraced by free spending politicos like mayor Tom Dyas. Reason for less population is obvious. Record high unemployment coupled with sky high living costs, particularly rents. People are leaving for greener pastures. Growth is the lowest the region has seen since the 2010s. Dyas can no longer say Kelowna is classified as one of Canada’s fastest growing cities to justify his ever rising spending and taxes.

Rick Webber running for re-election

1 term councillor Rick Webber knows a good grift when he participates in one. He announced 2 weeks ago. Webber has voted in lockstep with Tom Dyas on every issue. The man contributes nothing, is rarely interviewed, and virtual nobody cares that he's running again. He is well known as a Dyas bumboy. Its proven. Like Mohini Singh, he is a former reporter, and that he figures makes him highly qualified to do whatever it is he pretends to do. “Council decisions should be based on what’s best for Kelowna residents ..." Indeed Mr.Webber. You should listen to yourself some day.

 

Luke Stack won't run for council

The good news continues as Tom Dyas has lost another member of his posse.

Kelowna city councilor Luke Stack won't seek his sixth term in office. Stack was the longest-serving city councillor, and it showed. For 18 years he served under multiple disgraced Kelowna mayors. He won’t seek a sixth term this fall and that further opens the field for new and uncorrupted do-gooders.

Charlie Hodge will also not seek re-election. Gord Lovegrove will seek to retain his seat.

Jordan Adam - Young Anderson Barristers & Solicitors

The City of Kelowna has retained associate (not partner) Jordan Adam (adam@younganderson.ca) of Young Anderson Barristers & Solicitors in response to the Kelowna Springs petition.

"Young Anderson Barristers & Solicitors is a respected law firm known for its representation of clients in local government matters, particularly in relation to land use and planning law."

Our problem? Our information suggests Young Anderson was involved in producing the revolting and heavily redacted Denciti Property swap agreement. Associate Jordan Adam would NOT have authored that document.

Dyas has retained the same K9s who drafted his thieving agreement to squelch discontent about it. (at taxpayer expense) Here. A retainer was probably something in excess of $50k. Jordan Adam is not experienced enough to even be a partner. That office time of his is billed out to Kelowna taxpayers at tradesmen rates of a minimum $500 per hour. His court time will be $1500 to $1800 per hour.

RDCO vice-chair Kevin Kraft

RDCO Vice Chair Kevin Kraft ran as an independent in Kelowna-Lake Country-Coldstream in the October, 2024 B.C. election. He lost. He plotted for Federal candidate for the Conservatives, and lost.

Kraft is RDCO East Area Director, and serves on multiple local boards. In a review of a 2 year old e-mail, a reliable source fingered Kraft as a Sandher operative. "The story at hand is money and influence as they have offered the Vernon/Lumby MLA Candidacy to Keven Kraft. (tight with Saunders) They meaning John Rustad himself on a 1:30 minute call to Kevin on Monday afternoon. Kevin then called Min in Kelowna."

Kraft was directly involved in the machinations that gifted a BC Conservative nomination to Gavin Dew.

This was Bir Singh Sandher's riding, containing his drug bunker on Black Mountain and his polluting plant. Dew was his favoured, greased candidate and that is who John Rustad gifted the nomination to. Prabtaj Singh Sandher touted Gavin Dew’s appearance at the Vaisakhi in Kelowna.

Kevin Kraft is employed by the dodgy Michael Bradley Matvieshen. He is 'Operations Manager' at Homestead Foods. The property at 415 Old Vernon Road used to be a questionably legal pot grow op. They now purportedly grow lettuce and herbs and sell it on the roadside in a 'farmer's market'. Most question those economics. Here.

Matvieshen's latest news is all about not paying his taxes, and that is a decades long common theme for him. Matvieshen has proven he expects to pay no taxes at all. This is probably related to his native connections.

In May 2026 he was fined $9,000 and placed on house arrest after being convicted for failure to comply with income tax law. In 2016 he was fined $12,500. The Crown said Matvieshen had failed to file his taxes in tax years 2014, 2015, and 2016. The Crown said Matvieshen had 31 other counts for failure to comply with the Income Tax Act dating back to 2010. Indigenous Bloom Hemp Corp. is Matvieshen's most famous abject failure.

Its said Matvieshen is boning his investors in the kaput Sunlogics Power Fund Management and Wolverine Resources Corp. The companies involved in the tax case included Mill Creek Developments Ltd., Kelowna Office Surplus Ltd., and Marshall Business Center Inc.
