Buddy Tavares has died at the age of 67 of cancer. In January 2011, when he was 51, Tavares was arrested near K.L.O. Road and Pandosy Street after police responded to a firearms complaint.

As Tavares exited his truck and kneeled on the ground, Const. Geoff Mantler kicked Tavares in the head. The video of the violent arrest prompted protests against police brutality in the city. Mantler was suspended and eventually charged with assault causing bodily harm. After several days of trial in 2012, Mantler ended up pleading guilty. But he avoided jail time, receiving 18 months of probation. Mantler walked on another assault on a citizen. Sandher connected Justice Branch let him off in 2021 after punching a suspect 3 times in the head for no reason, saying that “the force was used for legitimate purposes and that it was proportionate and reasonable”.

Prabtaj Singh Sandher and Gurtaj Singh Sandher require many dudes like Geoff Mantler to protect their lives after killing HAMC associate Donny Lyons.

The HAMC never forgets, nor forgives. The Sandher brothers will require executive protection for the duration.
